There’s just a couple of days left until a sea of Santas take part in this Sunday’s Plymouth Santa Fun Run!
Returning to the waterfront for the third-year running, the fun run, organised by Saltram Rotary Club and with support from Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, raises much needed funds for local charities, Jeremiah’s Journey and Shekinah.
The fun run, which starts at 11am on Sunday 7th December, has both 2.5km or 5km options, and takes in the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour, the stunning views from the Hoe and ends at Commercial Wharf, next to The Mayflower Steps.
The event will begin with a warm-up led by the energetic team from Plymouth Active, before the Lord Mayor officially starts the fun run for the participating Santas walking, jogging or running through Britain’s Ocean City. With thanks also to The Ship who are sponsoring the water bottle station at the end of the run, and the South Hams Singers for singing a wide range of festive songs.
1,000 Santas are signed up, with nearly double that number of spectators expected on Sunday too.
Whilst registration is now closed, it’s not too late to support Jeremiah’s Journey and Shekinah – donation forms can be downloaded via https://www.plymouthsantafunrun.co.uk/
Thank you to everyone taking part!
